We are heartbroken and devastated about the senseless act of violence at the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party that has inflicted such unimaginable loss and suffering across our communities. Many Little Mountain staff, colleagues, friends, volunteers, and participants were present at the festival, so this tragedy is felt deeply within our organization and neighbourhood.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families, survivors, victims, and witnesses impacted by this tragedy. Our hearts and support are with the members and friends of the Filipino community, and we continue to stand in solidarity with you. We remain committed to supporting the Filipino community and others during this difficult time and will continue to look for ways to help in the healing process ahead.
As Filipino BC compassionately reminds us, “We encourage everyone to check in, support and hold each other. Do not hesitate to access resources available. You are not alone.”
Sincerely,
Little Mountain Neighbourhood House Society Staff and Board of Directors
