Community Connections Programs for Newcomers

Community Connections Programs: LMNHS offers programs that promote diversity and cultural inclusion in the workforce and ensure more immigrants benefit from opportunities for social engagement and employment. Our Community Connections programs support newcomer* engagement in community, social, and employment integration.

These programs are funded by Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada and priority will be given to Eligible Newcomers* with one of the following documents:

  • Newcomers with Permanent Residence Card & Number (PRC)
  • Confirmation of Permanent Residence (Form IMM5292)
  • Record of Landing (form IMM1000-issued prior to June 2002)
  • Temporary Residents must have a letter that states one of the two situations to be eligible:
    1. Notice of Decision from the Refugee Protection Division of the Immigration & Refugee Board (IRB) confirming convention refugee status
    2. Letter from CIC giving approval to remain in Canada while application  for permanent residence is being finalized (approval in principle)

Note: Non-eligible persons may be able to participate in a volunteer and mentorship capacity.
